My friend sent me this email that got me thinking a lot about my life and the contribution I make every day -- perhaps it will get you to think also:
just a thought
the last line of my profile is what my dad (may he rest in peace) did until the day he left us..LIVE AS LONG AS YOU ARE ALIVEand he meant it!! the LIVING not the existing is whats important..i read this somewhere in my travels..jimmy carter was at martin luther kings mothers funeral. something caught his eye that was on the gravestone..it was not the date of birth or the date of death but the HYPHEN (-) that was separating the two dates.. he said that that HYPHEN that small character was a persons life.. not the date of birth or the date of death. but what that person did in between both datesi think we lose that in our daily lives.. that HYPHEN.. and a person can make it as long or short as they want to.. that's what my dad meant..
... It is a wise woman who makes the best of the time between the dates .... i hope my hyphen is a long one filled with many accomplishments.
Thanks for sending me the email Renee!
