Beauty

I truly believe that beauty comes from within. When you feel beautiful on the inside you appear beautiful on the outside. A well balanced, healthful diet accompanied by moderate exercise is key. Also essential for those days when we do not feel so beautiful on the inside are a good lipstick, a pretty red dress and a great pair of shoes -- not to mention a handbag or two.

Another Reason to Stop Smoking

Quit Smoking

SmMost of us are pretty informed on the dangers of smoking when it comes to our health, but we never really hear what smoking does to our skin and teeth?

It may be one of the hardest challenges you face, but the best thing you can do, not only for your health, but for a glowing complexion and a sparkling smile is to stop smoking NOW. Smoking both stains your teeth and and deprives your skin of moisture and oxygen.  Once you quit smoking you will experience real benefits, your skin will become smoother and more radiant, and after a good cleaning your teeth will shine as well.

Smoking ages you
While the sun adds years onto your looks, nicotine damages your skin and can add years to your appearance as well. The effects of smoking in terms of aging are significant.

In 1985 the term "smokers face" was added to the medical and became part of the medical lexicon.  The characteristics of a smoker's face, which tends to make people look older than they are, was defined as the following:

Lines or wrinkles on the face, particularly radiating at right angles from the upper and lower lips or corners of the eyes, deep lines on the cheeks or numerous shallow lines on the cheeks and lower jaw.

A subtle gauntness of the features, with prominence of the underlying bony contours.

A grey skin color.

Save your life and your looks --Quit smoking!
Speak to your doctor about a good program that will help you stop smoking today.  Some find Welbutrin successful, but there are other methods your physician may recommend that are better suited to your personality and lifestyle.  Additionally, take action against lines and wrinkles with antioxidants, which fight the free-radicals that are causing your skin to age prematurely.  Drink a lot of water, at least 8 glasses a day. Moisturize regularly and always use sun protection, even on a cloudy day. Vitamin and mineral serums help replenish the skins natural elasticity and firmness.  Our skin should protect us, protect your skin

The Perfect Travel Companion

Evian

If you travel these days, you know that sitting in the cabin of a jumbo jet can be exhausting.  The seats are uncomfortable, the guy sitting next to you can be uninteresting (to say the least), and the air can be stuffy and moisture-less.  To top it off, while traveling in the summer one can become overheated and dehydrated.  While you can't control who sits next to you on the plane, the comfort of the seat, or the temperature outside --  with a simple spray you can feel as cool as if you were taking a plunge into perfectly tempered swimming pool.  Cool off with Evian Mist.  Evian makes wonderful hydrating products for your skin.  Recently, my friend Joyce reminded me of their fantastic travel spray that you can carry in your handbag while traveling cross country, cross the city, or just to the beach.  I use to use the product when I traveled cross country on stuffy airplanes and I found it excellent.  Use nature's own H20 to feel cool, and hydrate your skin.

You can buy all Evian hydrating skin products at drugstore.com, purchases over $25 receive free shipping.

Summertime

P12707_hero In the summer, all you need is a sprinkling of bronzer, a sweep of mascara and a bit of shimmer for your lips.  Heavy foundation is not necessary, however; sunscreen and moisturizer are essential in any season.  If you feel you need all three sunscreen, moisturizer, and a light foundation -- you can find it in Paula Dorf's Face Tint SPF 15. For the summer, consider a shade one tone darker than your natural skin tone to match your naturally darker summer skin.

P74517_hero If you want to highlight you cheekbones try Lorac's Multiple Rush in Love Rush dab it under eyes and on your cheekbones -- it reflects light in all the right places for a healthful and sun-kissed glow.
